Have you received a Traffic Ticket?

Mr. Warshofsky represents people charged with committing traffic infractions. Tickets in Hillsborough county start at $150, and tickets in Pinellas county start at $150. Mr. Warshofsky will travel outside of Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, if needed. Whether charged with Speeding, Careless Driving, or Violating a Traffic Control Device, Mr. Warshofsky can appear in court for you.

Your appearance is not required if you have an attorney representing you. Mr. Warshofsky will sit down with you, if you desire, and discuss your case with you. He will appear on your behalf, and carry out the goals that you and he agree on, to the best of his ability. There are no guarantees, as the presiding Judges and Magistrates vary from courtroom to courtroom, as do each person's driving history.

Mr. Warshofsky is on the advisory committee to the Florida Supreme Court for the Florida Rules of Traffic Court.

FAQ's

What is the difference between an infraction and a criminal charge?

An infraction is a civil matter that involves penalties such as a fine, court costs, license suspension, or community service hours. A criminal charge can have the above penalties but can also involve incarceration or probation.

I am guilty of the infraction, why should I hire you?

Just because a person is guilty, doesn't mean that the government can prove the case against you. Radar or laser guns can be found to be out of service. The officer can forget to bring his documentation proving that he is certified to operate the speed measuring device, or that the speed measuring device was working properly. Just because you may be guilty of the infraction, and the officer has all his documentation in order, doesn't mean an attorney can not negotiate with the officer for a NO POINT resolution. Many people seek the help of an attorney for an infraction, so that their licenses are not assessed points, or to avoid driving school.

Do tickets get dropped for mistakes an officer makes?

The answer to that is that they can be dismissed for many different reasons. It all depends on what the mistake in the ticket is and which jurisdiction the case appears. Some judges will dismiss a ticket if the wrong statute number is put on the ticket. Some will dismiss a ticket if the officer fails to completely fill out a ticket. It just depends on who the judge or magistrate is.

If I take traffic school, will my ticket get dismissed?

Taking traffic school in Florida enables a driver to have the points removed from their license. It does not dismiss the ticket. Every ticket you receive will show up on your driving history, unless you are found not guilty or unless the ticket gets dismissed by the Court.
